Anima Mundi…

Belki ruh dediğimiz şey, birbirine dokunan bütün varlıkların arasında her an yeniden doğan ilişkidir.

Anima Mundi…

In Latin, Anima Mundi means “the Soul of the World.” Yet here, the world is not merely the planet we inhabit. It is the shared field where the inner life of humanity, collective memory, nature, time, and seemingly disconnected layers of existence converge.

This work does not tell a single story, nor does it present a collection of pieces that simply complete one another. Instead, it explores how images that appear unrelated at first glance can coexist within the same field of consciousness.

Here, collage is more than a technique. It becomes a way of understanding existence itself. Life does not emerge as a fixed whole, but as an endless movement of encounters, separations, transformations, and renewed relationships.

Within the composition, the sea is more than water. It is the realm of what has not yet found language—the collective unconscious and the space of pure potential. The fish carries intuitions rising quietly from those invisible depths, while the serpent evokes transformation as a continuous, cyclical process rather than a linear one. The open book represents humanity’s enduring pursuit of knowledge. Intuition and intellect, nature and culture, body and thought are allowed to exist together without contradiction.

The central figure does not belong to a single identity. It is a body assembled from fragments of different eras, beliefs, and narratives. Rather than representing an individual, it embodies becoming itself. Here, the human being is never complete, but constantly in the process of formation.

Throughout the work, networks of luminous dots and delicate traces form an invisible map of relationships. What unites these seemingly independent images is not visual similarity, but the unseen connections that exist between them. The universe, after all, is shaped less by isolated objects than by the relationships that bind them together.

Above, the Sun and the Moon inhabit the same sky. Masculine and feminine, consciousness and the unconscious, the visible and the invisible. These opposites do not compete; they become the conditions for one another’s existence.

Elsewhere, birds move freely across the composition, carrying the movement of thought and spirit. They do not symbolize escape, but transformation. Freedom begins not by leaving where we are, but by seeing where we are through a different awareness.

Anima Mundi is not a portrait of a fragmented world. It is a reminder that what appears fragmented may simply be different expressions of an invisible whole.

Perhaps the world does not possess a single soul. Perhaps the soul is born continuously in the relationships that emerge whenever beings encounter one another.

And perhaps this is why, when we stop searching for the universe outside ourselves, we begin to recognize that it has been breathing within us all along.
