“ ARALIK “

Aralık is a contemporary work that addresses a threshold of consciousness in which temporal and spatial continuity is suspended. The work neither represents a narrative nor points toward a definitive outcome; instead, it centers on the state of transition itself—on indeterminacy and the absence of direction.
The figures within the composition appear detached from a gravity-bound ground. Yet this detachment does not result in a fall. Their suspended state signifies not a physical uncertainty, but a perceptual condition. In doing so, the work draws the viewer away from ideas of progression or regression, directing attention toward the transformative potential of stillness and waiting.
Spiral and labyrinthine forms are deliberately detached from notions of cyclical repetition or the search for an exit. Rather, these forms signify the dissolution of linear time and a reorientation of consciousness toward its own center. Here, the labyrinth is not a metaphor for being lost, but an experiential field in which the very idea of direction is placed on hold.
The wing motif employed in the work consciously distances itself from traditional iconographies of ascent, escape, or salvation. The wings remain open yet motionless, emphasizing that transformation unfolds not through physical movement, but through an internal reconfiguration. In this sense, Aralık reveals not a spiritual narrative, but a shift occurring at the level of consciousness.
Geometric and fragmented surfaces that evoke the mental realm are not positioned at the center of the composition. The mind relinquishes its role as a governing or determining structure and becomes instead an object of observation. This approach foregrounds a mode of awareness detached from identification and emphasizes a position of witnessing.
The silence of the body is not framed as repression or absence, but as a natural outcome of perceptual integration. The withdrawal of bodily expression does not produce a void; rather, it generates a condensed sense of presence.
Aralık does not present identity as a fixed or stable construct. Instead, identity is rendered suspended, permeable, and temporary. The viewer is invited to engage not with the question of “who one is,” but with the notion of presence itself. As established definitions dissolve, an unnamed field of existence begins to emerge.
In this context, Aralık is not a representation of transition, but the condition of transition itself.
The work invites the viewer not to explanation, but to witnessing.
