DELEGASYON

Hayvan figürleri —at, yılan, kuş ve melez formlar— içgüdüsel zekâyı temsil eder. Ancak bu figürler özgür değildir. İnsan bilincinin içine çekilmiş, yönlendirilmiş ve sınırlandırılmış hâlde sunulurlar. İçgüdü, doğrudan yaşanan bir güç olmaktan çıkmış; delegasyon yoluyla kontrol edilen bir enerjiye dönüşmüştür.

Delegasyon, sonuç üretmez.

Bir çözüm önermez.

Bir mesaj vermez.

Eser, izleyiciyi tek bir sorunun karşısına bırakır:

Bilincini kim yönetiyor?

Bu soru yanıt beklemez;

çünkü eser, yanıtın çoktan devredilmiş olabileceğini ima eder.

DELEGATION

Conceptual and Historical Narrative

Delegation, in its most fundamental sense, is the transfer of authority.

This work deliberately removes the concept of delegation from its managerial or institutional context and situates it within the inner architecture of consciousness. What is transferred here is not merely responsibility, but the very capacity to think, perceive, decide, and orient oneself. The artist constructs this condition not as an abstract idea, but as a symbolic structure, revealing how the individual gradually relinquishes agency over their own existence.

The work engages the modern tradition of collage within a historical continuum. Originating in Cubism and radicalized through Dada and Surrealism, collage has functioned as a method that destabilizes fixed meaning by dissolving the boundary between high and low culture. Delegation does not adopt this legacy as a stylistic quotation, but as a conceptual strategy. The juxtaposition of images, epochs, and figures is not an aesthetic choice; it is the inevitable outcome of a decentered consciousness.

The composition deliberately avoids a single focal point. No hierarchy is established among the figures; time, space, and narrative coexist simultaneously on the same surface. This structure recalls the multilayered visual logic of Persian and Islamic miniature traditions, where perspective is suspended not to generate depth, but to multiply meaning. The viewer is not guided; they circulate. Meaning is constructed through the movement of the gaze.

The dense, multi-figured arrangement also carries the allegorical intensity of the Early Renaissance. In a Boschian manner, the scene does not impose a singular moral judgment. Instead, through the plurality of figures, it leaves open the question of where authority truly resides. This indeterminacy constitutes the central tension of the work.

The bed emerges as one of the most critical thresholds within the composition. Throughout art history, the bed has been associated with vulnerability of the body, birth, death, and transformation. In Delegation, the bed ceases to function as the final refuge of intimacy. The private sphere is occupied by historical and collective imagery, making visible the surrender of decision-making power not only in social life, but within the most intimate layers of consciousness.

Egg imagery appears as a symbol of potential. Yet here, the egg offers no promise of pure origin. It exists alongside its own fragility. The future remains unformed, yet already placed in the hands of others. The egg embodies possibility itself—while leaving unresolved the question of to whom that possibility belongs.

Animal figures—horse, serpent, birds, and hybrid forms—represent instinctual intelligence. However, these figures are not free. They are drawn into human consciousness, directed and constrained. Instinct is no longer an immediately lived force; it becomes an energy regulated and contained through delegation.

Delegation produces no conclusion.

It proposes no solution.

It delivers no message.

Instead, the work confronts the viewer with a single question:

Who governs your consciousness?

This question does not seek an answer—

because the work implies that the answer may have already been delegated.
