KAVUK: The Crown of Time and Secret
Throughout history, the kavuk has stood as one of the heaviest symbols of power, state authority, hierarchy, and absolute masculine dominance. It was a sign carried upon the head—an emblem of control, a memory speaking from above, a weight representing order. Yet this work deliberately unsettles that fixed meaning. Here, the kavuk ceases to be an object of domination and returns instead to the center of creation, intuition, and feminine wisdom.
For while history was being written, another current flowed unseen. A wisdom transmitted not through proclamation but through silence—growing within inner labyrinths, passed along intuitive lines rather than spoken decrees. This work renders that invisible lineage visible. The magnificent headpieces rising upon these women are no longer instruments of oppression; they become the crown of a collective memory, a sacred inheritance passed from woman to woman across ages.
At the summit of the composition stand two female figures positioned side by side, almost as if emerging from a single body. The space between them nearly dissolves. This closeness symbolizes intimacy, sisterhood, and plural authority. Power here is not singular or oppressive; it is shared, expansive, and embracing. Authority is not imposed from above but rises from within. The kavuk transforms into a field of consciousness rather than a symbol of command.
At the center, a body carved open into an endless corridor reveals the mental and intuitive universe of womanhood. This inner chamber functions both as a labyrinth of the mind and as a universal womb. Figures moving within it evoke archetypes of the subconscious, traces of memory, and layers of collective remembrance. The chessboard motif gestures toward the strategic balance of life—the unseen order behind visible moves. Reason and intuition, chaos and structure, inner and outer realms converge upon a single surface.
On the left, a classical Western sculptural profile represents history’s frozen and monumental face, while the calligraphic and miniature elements spreading across the composition invoke the fluid, inward spirit of the East. This meeting is not a conflict but a synthesis. Feminine energy transcends geography and time, forming a unified field beyond cultural divisions.
The large inverted female face extending downward, eyes closed, embodies a turning inward. She withdraws not in escape but in conscious choice—stepping back from the noise of the external world to listen to the whisper within. The intuitive reveals itself precisely in this stillness.
The green root structure descending from the center makes visible the intergenerational bond and genetic memory. Penrose triangles and surreal geometries remind us that the feminine experience cannot be explained through linear logic. Birds symbolize freedom; hidden eyes signify perpetual awareness. The composition becomes a visual manifesto of a consciousness that carries weight yet refuses submission.
“KAVUK: The Crown of Time and Secret” is more than a crown. It is a remembering form. It symbolizes power that rises from within, a shared awareness, and a wisdom carried forward across generations. The work offers not merely aesthetic presence but an enduring field of meaning—inviting the viewer, with every gaze, into their own inner corridor of time and secret.
